Another hurdle overcome

And I'm not talking about England's definite qualification for the next round.

No, I mean watching England play in the company of a passionate Scotsman and managing not to kill him (which took a bit of doing seeing as I have been outed as a transexual killer)

Actually, he was very passionate indeed. I think he was trying to distract me from the football. Umm, to a certain extent he succeeded.

What was the score anyway?

I wonder what John Motson's take would have been on the living room antics during the match? ..."And it's Reidski! He's all over the opposition. Jane hasn't got an answer for his direct attacking play... And it's there! It's in the net! Jane looks absolutely gutted!"

according to the treason act 1351 you are going to the tower for that jane

aww, england offered no defence, their man's in the area, he shoots, all our hopes dashed in a second..they think it's all over, he's lighting a cigarette and going back to the crossword, it is now..

I am so going to be deleted but I hope you at least caught some of the match because I only had the radio :-(

''be adherent to the kings enemies in his realm, giving them aid and comfort'' is high treason says the act

that's King Beckham of course, as in 'what's that 'king Beckham think he's playing at?'

even if you weren't 'adherent' you only need to make him a sandwich during a match and you're done for jane

I think the phrase "you missed nothing" could be apt. As would "nothing much to see here, move along, move along...". People actually left work early to watch that shambolic performance. Apart from Terry, the two goals and the spectators palpable relief at seeing Rooney on the pitch, it was totally nothing to write home about.

I enjoyed the Germany / Poland game much much more.

I never saw it as I was at work, but if what I've heard is true, Reidski probably enjoyed it more than you!

YP and Arthur - 'I thought it was all over....and it was.' ;-)

Lisa, I have to admit he wouldn't have stood a chance if the first half hadn't been so dull.

Jim,he seemed pretty cheerful for one reason or another!
