This brings back memories of this....
As we failed in the penalties that emotional night I wept. And hearing Pavarotti sing as the credits rolled made me cry more.
Apparently, at exactly the same time Reidski was running up and down the hallway punching the air and shouting 'Yes, Yes, Yes!'
It is probably fortunate we didn't know each other then.
P.S. That photo brings it home to me just how long ago 1990 really was. Gazza looks in good shape!

I know I was surprised at the news this morning of Pavarotti's demise as I hadn't even heard that he was close to death.
Are you prepared for a pasting in December JJ?
can't do it, can't carry on, exhausted my fragile interest in football.... I'll just wave from the sidelines.

Karen, I can't honestly say I am looking forward to playing Carlisle...not the way they are going at the moment.
Pixie - I am waving back. "Hi!"
Amazingly we're doing rather well at the moment and seem to be up near the top of the table. I am not optimistic that this will last however
That is such a funny juxtaposition there. I can just picture you both at that penalty shoot out. Schadenfreude, its the new fun!
TNR, it is still a minor miracle that he and I got through last year's World Cup with our relationship intact.
I can understand Reidski's response. Much the same as mine. Happy days. Think thats why I love Pavarotti's music so much now. :-)
Kev, much as I would like to say it is a consolation that that match brought your nation so much joy...it isn't!
