Jay has just taken me back to my childhood.
Who would have thought the memory of a button box could provoke strong emotions - yet I feel quite tearful remembering how I would go through my mum's button collection again and again as a kid - for no other reason than I liked the shiny ones she kept in there.

I too used to love rooting through my mum's button box as there was such variety. I am not so enthused about my own that I have started as they are almost all the spares that come with new clothes.

Karen - I feel like I have failed as a mother because I never had a nice button box for my kids to explore.
