Either:
To spend a bank holiday Monday travelling from Northampton by coach all the way to Carlisle for a football match (which we lost) and back again?
Or:
To eat a deep fried Cadbury's cream egg at a chip shop in Penrith?
My eldest did both of those things yesterday.
He looked pretty sick when he finally got home which could be put down to either of these things.

the creme egg has to win on the stupid scale I would say!
I thought us Scots had the monopoly on vile deep fried chocolate. A deep fired creme egg sounds extremely unpleasant.
Deep fried creme eggs! There was a chip shop in Maidstone,Kent, selling them. They had a big write up in the Metro a few weeks ago.
I'd love to try one. Still gutted I coundn't find deep fried Mars Bars anywhere, when I was in Glasgow in 1999...
Coach to Carlisle? Perfectly reasonable!
Deep fried cadburys creme egg? Less so, but after all it is easter!
I'd love to try a deep fried creme egg - just the once, perhaps...
Never had a deep fried cream egg, but have had some deep fried chocolate (a home made experiment).
The coach from London to Carlisle made me ill. Overnight journey, very little sleep, upstairs on a double decker and it was incredibly hot. We stopped about 2.30am and I threw up outside some godawful service station. Felt fine after that. A bit surreal though as BBC News 24 was on and we found out that they were gonna hang Saddam Hussein shortly.
Even scarier was the fact that 5 days later the very same bus crashed near Heathrow airport killing 1 person (if I remember right)
Gill, I tend to agree.
TNR, it sounds totally revolting - and I ma reliably assured it tastes that way too.
Fatalist - MAIDSTONE??? I thought Kent was far too posh to sell such items in their chip shops!
Cookie - let's hope they keep it strictly to Easter sales only.
Trousers - I suspect one would be enough - for a life time!
Karen - that journey sounds horrendous. Horrible to hear the same vehicle crashed shortly afterwards too.
Off topic but I have finally sorted out links on my blog. Have added you if that's ok?
Thanks Cookie.
